Puerto Rico
San Sebastian, PR Drinking Water Project
Project Background
A non profit organization operating across Puerto Rico is focusing on the preservation of affordable, sustainable, and high-quality housing for the elderly and other vulnerable populations. Their efforts are focused on modernizing communities, adapting them to Puerto Rico’s current needs, and making improvements that enhance the residents quality of life. For their San Sebastian location, they require support assessing the potable water system.
Description of the Community:
This organization is working in 9 communities across rural areas of western and central Puerto Rico, implementing improvement projects that transform disadvantaged communities into prosperous, climate resilient communities, for current and future residents. Most of the communities (69%) they are operating in were built over 30 years ago, with all physical infrastructure showing signs of deterioration.
Project Scope of Work:
Scope of work for this project includes conducting a feasibility study, conceptual design and cost estimate of potable water cistern system with a reserve minimum of 3 days. The extended reserve must ensure compliance with EPA drinking water standards for pollution prevention.
