Project Background

Community Engineering Corps (CECorps) is partnering with the US Water Alliance through the EPA Environmental Finance Center to provide technical assistance to a Tribal Community in Bayfield County, WI. The Tribe is seeking assistance to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) to extend its existing water distribution system to the westernmost boundary of the Reservation.

Description of the Community:

The tribe occupies 14,500 acres of land and operates under its own constitution and governing council. The Community’s water system is supplied by groundwater wells that serve a population of around 1,500 residents across residential, commercial and community facilities. The utility department operates several storage tanks providing potable water and fire protection.

Project Scope of Work:

CECorps is looking for technical experts with experience working with Tribal Communities and groundwater water supply systems to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for the expansion of their distribution system. The PER will be used by the community to apply for funding for proposed improvements. The volunteer team may be asked to support the development of technical components of an SRF application, including cost estimates, construction timeline development, et cetera.
